Preventable Death Rates, Ranked by State, Mirror U.S. Election Results

When rates of preventable deaths by cause are mapped, as The Washington Post did in November 2016, the maps look much like the map of the recent presidential election. States that voted for Donald Trump appear to have a higher percentage of preventable deaths than those states that voted for Hillary Clinton.
